"Injured offshore worker has treatment at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary."

About: Emergency Medicine / Minor Injuries Unit

(as a service user),

After Slipping and injuring myself in a Cargo Oil Tank offshore, I ended up in the Hospital, I needed Stitches to a deep cut on my lower left leg and I had fractured a bone in my elbow.

I was treated by Wayne and Gill I think they were surgical consultants, but they looked after me extremely well, they came across friendly and happy in there work. They gave my injuries a good assessment before cleaning my wound then Wayne stitched my leg up, I needed 15 stitches. I believe I'm a good judge of character and they both made me feel at easy, I could tell they were very experienced and confident in what they were doing. I couldn't wish for more thorough treatment, for example, cleaning of the wound before stitching up. Wayne gave me good advice and aftercare pack to go home with.

Dear turkeynq69

I am delighted to hear that you were pleased with the level of care and treatment you received when you attended Minor Injuries unit following a fall offshore. No-one wants, or plans to end up in A&E, but we do our best to try and make a traumatic experience a bit easier. Wayne and I appreciate that you have taken the time to tell us your story and give such lovely feedback, it means a lot. Glad that we were able to help.

I hope that your wound, and your elbow are both improving and wish you a speedy recovery.

Many thanks again

Jill & Wayne
