"I was very well cared for"

About: North Devon District Hospital / Upper GI Surgery

(as the patient),

After 7 years of having an abdominal hernia (which saw me go to hospital on a number of occasions) I was finally referred to a specialist (Mr Saunders) at North Devon and District Hospital in Barnstaple. I couldn't have been in better hands.

From seeing them to see if they could preform the operation to my last check up yesterday in mid October 2024) I was very well cared for.

The operation was scary but all the doctors and nurses who provided all my care and after care were so brilliant and made me feel very well looked after.

I live in Plymouth and had to take a 2 hour journey each way for each appointment and I must say it was very well worth it. I hope that I never have to do this again but if I did I wouldn't be worried because I Know I will be very well looked after.

Thank you so much to everyone for all you have done.
