I felt I was, in effect, abducted from my home by a County Wide social worker who seemed to think they knew my mind better than I did.
I was taken to a Nottinghamshire Mental Health Unit and sectioned under S.2 Mental Health Act 1983. Nobody explained to me why. The hospital then attempted to give me tablets that I did not recognise. I refused to take them until a doctor had explained to me exactly what these NHS people supposed was wrong with me.
I was in that hospital for 5 days, before I was seen by a doctor who told me I had been diagnosed as late onset bi-polar (I was in my 70's at the time). Seems very old to suddenly develop such an affliction. In my entire life, nobody has ever suggested that I could be bi polar.
