I have been waiting on gynaecology appointments, received a telephone consultation in august, the doctor was very encouraging, supportive and I felt listened to. I was advised that the One Stop Clinic would be the best course of action for me and we would discuss further treatments at this clinic, I was advised I would be seen as urgent and received an appointment days later for September with another doctor. That appointment was cancelled and rescheduled for October with yet another doctor, I turned up to appointment at Clinic F in Stobhill only to find out that clinic had been cancelled and the consultant I was seeing was not even in the building at the time. I should have received a letter back in September with a new date. Which I have not received. The lady on reception was very apologetic and even printed off the letter that I should have received. My new appointment is now May 2025! Now for someone that was to be seen as urgent, with an appointment originally in September to be re-scheduled again for 7 months later as no other clinics are available until then..... I don't understand why clinics are not ongoing throughout the year and if they only happen twice a year there must be other ways of seeing patients. Patients that are already waiting months (personally over a year plus). On this occasion I feel the patient journey has lacked empathy, we are on waiting lists for a reason, lack of consideration for the QOL of patients while waiting on appointments that are continually re-scheduled is affecting mental health and physical health. There has been no reason given for clinics being cancelled or as to why 7 months is an acceptable timescale. This isnt even for a procedure, this appointment is the initial appointment to get onto another list for procuedure. It's totally unacceptable in my opinion.
"Poor consideration for Patient Journey"
