"Support being offered to patients"

About: Locala Community Partnerships CIC / Community diabetes service

(as the patient),

After being referred by my GP to Locala -  who provide a Structured Education Programme for Type 2 Diabetes -  I've found that they only provide courses during the working day with no ability to offer this course in an evening or at weekends.

Having programmes which exclude large cohorts of patients by design isn't great and create a negative experience around the support being offered to patients.

My role at Locala is to listen to service users and understand how it feels to use our services. I report back to services and managers. I support to make change where needed. I really enjoy my job. Making a difference is important to me!

Dear Davidz, thank you for sharing your feedback regarding the Type 2 Diabetes Education Programme. Your feedback and suggestion have been shared with the Adult Diabetes Team who are always keen to listen to patient feedback. The team are looking at expanding courses and offering the programme out of hours, but I regret that due to delays in recruitment this is unlikely to be before the new year. In the meantime if you wish to discuss your feedback further, please contact our Customer Liaison team on:

Email: enquiry@locala.org.uk

Telephone: 0303 003 4529 followed by option 2.

Many thanks,

Emma
