Following attendance at SDEC following chest discomfort after exacerbation of bronchiectasis/ LRTI, I was called in by an ACP.
It states clearly that I prefer acute medicine physician or acute medicine consultant as opposed to advanced practice clinician as I feel very strongly about this, and Walsall Healthcare is completely aware of this right and I feel very strongly they are of reduced quality.
I explained to the ACP that I don't want to speak with an ACP or anyone else who embraces advanced practice, and I was very upset and anxious due to negative experiences in the past and have been stereotyping slightly though they turned on myself.
I was advised by the ACP that if I continue, they'll call security and have myself removed, they apparently don't have this authority and should make consultant in charge aware of this situation and clinical site manager.
I feel that the ACP was very snappy. I made it clear that I didn't want to use SDEC if all the clinicians are advanced practice clinicians, and I have legal right to see senior registrar or consultant as advanced practice is not the same and is like nurse practitioner or ANP.
I feel very strongly and angry with the whole service and experiences. I found the ACP's body language very anxious provoking and offensive and feel I have right to request certain type of registered healthcare professional, as most ACP are general nurses or paramedics, not the original medical grade who has completed MBChB and GMC registration with relevant other professional body certifications.
I ask that you please explain to the staff if the dispute or upset from myself having conversation with senior medical doctors as request has made for patient preference marker or flag documenting that I prefer senior medical doctor not ACP due to complex medical history and drug history perhaps.
