I wanted to record my experiences with the local NHS services here in St Andrews, Fife.
Just over 18 months ago my husband - in his 80s - who already had some health issues (but we were coping and he was still mobile) had a catastrophic fall, lost his mobility and developed dementia, and since that life changing event we have had continuous, tremendous support.
The GP (Pipeland Medical), district nurses, complex care team , the carers, occupational therapy, equipment support and now the podiatry team have all been excellent.
I used the Podiatry online referral form (simple to use), and I was contacted by a member of the team (David), who arranged to visit within a couple of hours to resolve an issue that had been troubling my husband for a number of months.
I am always impressed by the kindness of others, their efficiency and professionalism in very difficult circumstances and David was yet another example.
In a society where people are quick to criticise I feel it’s import to recognise and compliment the many staff who deliver an excellent and invaluable service.
"We have had continuous, tremendous support"
