On turning up at the clinic I found I was assigned to a virtual clinic, what was this?
I was firstly accused of DNA for the appointment I had phoned about due to being on holiday, not a good start.
There was no explanation why certain tests were to be done and some i had had at previous appointments were not done. Why? Who does the testing? It appeared to be a person who has trained just to do the test. The exception was a staff member who did retinal scans, but here there were some communication difficulties due to a language barrier. No consultation with a trained medic as I expected. I had been assured at the previous appointment by the consultant would see me and discuss any test results at the next attendance.
As a patient in this virtual clinic I was tested, had no idea of results and was told a Dr would look at the tests on line and a letter would be sent in 3 weeks. I feel that we patients are treated like numbers and the clinic run according to mushroom management - keep in the dark - or in this case make the patient feel a failure.
"Treated like numbers"
