I was admitted to the GA ward at Raigmore Hospital due to being unwell and sent up by the GP.
Initially I was seen by a HCSW who tried multiple times to get bloods. This was quite painful and distressing. They advised that after several consecutive attempts none were successful. We were then sat left waiting to see what would happen.
The night shift nurse (Kirsten) who came on was amazing. She was attentive and made sure I’d had something to eat and drink before attempting bloods again. Then the rest of the evening checked in to make sure I was alright.
We eventually saw a doctor who was very informative and discussed/explored all my symptoms with me thoroughly. They explained all the tests they were running and a rough timescale to expect results.
Once all the results were back the doctor came back and discussed what the results meant and what the next steps would be. Following this they then managed to arrange a discharge plan.
I just want to say thanks to the team in GA for looking after me.
