"I felt patronised"

About: Grantham & District Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as the patient),

I waited 70 minutes after my appointment time for 10 minutes of being patronised by the consultant. No apology for the wait, no examination (diagnosis made from X-ray alone), unprofessional comment made about my GP. The consultant told me me that they had a 2-year waiting list and at my age, I wouldn’t want to wait for that long. I transferred to a teaching hospital 300 miles away, where I was seen promptly and courteously and had surgery a few weeks later.
