"1st experience "

About: Royal Surrey County Hospital

We experienced good care for my mum, taken to A&E following a fall. CT head scan actioned quickly, review by Dr, then on to separate trips for X-ray and CT of her hip. Porters, Doctors, Radiographers, Nurses - all very patient with her needs (dementia, disability).

Then moved to AMU for review after scans/bloods and seen by geriatrician.

Quite a long wait of 1.5hr to sort pain medication due to back and forth from mum to nurse to dr during trips for scans and transfer to AMU and intolerance of codeine.

Staff very good at advising their names and explaining processes clearly to mum, amidst a much more confused state of mind during the day. 1 night stay, HCA staff assisted mobilisation and transfer to the car, and updates the care home on her medical situation.

Car parking at visitor times on Monday was bad. Otherwise very clean areas we used and pleasant staff.

Hopefully we won't have to return again soon, but if we do we hope it will be a similar good experience.
