"He took great care and time"

About: General practices in Ayrshire & Arran

(as a parent/guardian),

My son was unwell with a cough, temp, and shortness of breath.  We contacted the GP practice, Marnock Medical Group, who gave us an emergency on the day appointment.

My son saw Dr Dhillon, on examination my son's oxygen levels were low, and he was unhappy with crackles he could hear in his chest/lungs. He repeated the obs, then contacted the hospital asking for my son to be monitored and a chest X-ray to be performed.

Dr Dhillon had to persuade the hospital to see my son, explaining that he had repeated oxygen levels using more than one device and wanted him seen. After a visit to hospital my son was started on antibiotics and given a 48hour access to children's ward incase he becomes more unwell.

We are extremely grateful for Dr Dhillon pushing for the hospital to see our son. He was thorough throughout his examination and took great care and time.

Dear Cafect97

I'm so sorry to hear your son was unwell, I'm sure it must have been a really worrying time for you and the family. I'm so glad you managed to get an urgent appointment at your GP Practice and it sounds as though Dr Dhillon has been very thorough with his assessment as well as getting your son the care and treatment he needed at the hospital. I hope things have now improved and he's making a good recovery.

Thank you so much for taking the time to provide feedback of your experience. I will ensure your lovely comments are passed to Marnock Medical Group and Dr Dhillon who I'm sure will really appreciate receiving them.

Sending very best wishes,

Marie
