I saw the crisis team nurse consultant during an episode of worsening mental health earlier this year. I felt that I wasn't listened to, and later on found out that they wrote to my GP suggesting I had symptoms of EUPD (a diagnosis I did not have, nor did they explore any longer term history sufficiently to suggest a personality disorder). Myself and my regular psychiatry team do not agree with this as a diagnosis.
I have since been diagnosed with ADHD (which obviously was not picked up by the crisis team and was labelled as a personality disorder trait), and realise in retrospect that I was in a really bad burnout at the time, and I had suicidal thoughts accompanying this.
I have concerns about how mental health services functions as a whole, when there are significant blind spots such as neurodiversity and its presentation. I have concerns with this nurse consultant and their assessment of the situation. I think that suggesting a personality disorder diagnosis without completing a complete history is pretty negligent.
I honestly don't think this is a fit to function service, especially with staff who do not seem to care - not only about patients, but proper process of diagnosis.
