My son recently stayed at the Clinical Decisions Unit at the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow.
Staff were great, good range of toys and facilities. His condition meant that they had to take a bacterial swab on his open wounds. We were then discharged from hospital.
A few days after we got home, we received a call from the ward to say that my son had MRSA. I only really heard of if from the news and was quite worried. Unbeknown to me, the type of MRSA he had was quite common and mild.
I couldn't understand why the person on the phone was so blasé about it and proceeded to tell me about prescription medications. I felt that this member of staff didn't sense my worry and vaguely answered my questions. They were very reassuring though, but the main thing was that I wasn't really satisfied with the level of explanation.
