"Fell out walking my dogs"

About: Crosshouse Hospital / Trauma & orthopaedics

(as a service user),

Broke my hip, after surgery I was placed in ward 2B. Obviously I was traumatised and sore. I had only once before been in hospital and that was with a broken jaw. To say I was apprehensive is an understatement.

That all changed the minute I met the staff in 2B. Each one nicer than the other.

Sheena (nurse) was outstanding at explaining what was happening or going to happen and putting your mind at rest.

Sarah (nurse) excellent, nothing too much trouble and always with a smile.

Caroline, she liked everything neat and tidy in the ward but always with a joke and smile. She even brought us shampoo caps and washed our hair for us.

There were so many of them and not one could I say a bad word about.

These are the people who are a credit to the health service.

Dear Teetit49,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience whilst a patient in ward 2B. I'm sorry to hear about your fall and hip fracture. I hope you are on the mend now.

It's lovely to hear how positive you experience was within ward 2B. I will pass this onto the team and I'm sure it will make them all smile.

Get well soon.

Stevie
