Had been feeling achy/sore from the back of my neck, both shoulders all the way down from there to my hands. Visited Drs several times but no one seemed to connect my symptoms. They seemed to be taking each symptom as an individual. After speaking with NHS 24, who were brilliant. They said to go back to Drs and be forceful about a second opinion. Which I did, and was so grateful to see a younger Dr with Senior Dr supervising. Who finally gave me a possible diagnosis. I was seen 10 days later by a Rheumatologist who confirmed that I have RA. It was a relief to know what it was, although not the diagnosis I would have wanted.
I have been started on a biological treatment with a review next week. And whilst there was some improvement initially I feel that things are going backwards now. Fingers crossed for a possible change of biological medication. The Rheumatology Dept have been very supportive, no question is daft. And they are so approachable. So hopefully onwards and upwards from here. Thank you ☺️
