"The staff were friendly and welcoming"

About: University Hospital Hairmyres / Ophthalmology

(as the patient),

I was understandably a bit nervous when I reported for a cataract operation in the Opthalmology Department of Hairmyres Hospital in East Kilbride.

However the staff greeting me for preliminary checks were friendly and welcoming and the surgeon Dr Park was reassuring in explaining the procedure. I couldn't say the operation was pleasant, but it was painless  performed efficiently and soon over.

Afterwards Gillian and other staff settled me down, briefing me on after care and even giving me a coffee and a ham sandwich while calling my wife t collect me. So thank you to all concerned for the cheerful atmosphere.

AND just a few days after my eye seems well on the mend.
