"The staff were really good"

About: Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance Victoria Hospital / Admissions Unit 2 (Emergency Surgical) Victoria Hospital / General Surgery Victoria Hospital / Surgical High Dependency

(as a service user),

I was recently taken into the Victoria hospital in the early hours after being attended to by paramedic Richard. I had abdominal pain ,sickness and diarrhoea. Richard was very good and organized to get me admitted to hospital.

I was on admissions ward 2 for a few days where I was diagnosed with pancreatitis related to gall bladder. The staff were really good and everything cleaned well.

I the had a day in surgical high dependency due to problems. Staff were excellent and high degree of cleanliness. After that I was in ward 52 to continue treatment Again staff really good although I would say they were a bit understaffed. Ward really well cleaned by George.

The major problem I would say was the shortage of beds, they were desperate to get patients discharged in order to get the beds.

Dear Looed37,

Many thanks for taking the time to share your feedback here on CareOpinion. I am so sorry to read about what happened to you and I do hope that you are feeling better. It is great to hear positive stories about the work our wonderful staff provide.

If you wish I can pass on the feedback to Richard directly. To do so we would need to know the date, time and address that Richard attended and your name. This information can be sent to sas.feedback@nhs.scot for the team to pick up. If you do decide to do this, would you be so kind as to make reference to your CareOpinion username so that the team can easily locate your story and share it with the crew.

I wish you all the very best and thanks again.

Kind Regards

Alan
