My experience in Asha has been a largely positive one. The staff were wonderful and the group I was part of was equally as good. This is my second time here and both times I have always been well looked after. The staff always had the time of the day for me when times were tough up here. They listened to me when I was upset and gave me good advice and were very helpful when I needed support.
Overall, I am very grateful for this opportunity (I only wish it were longer). The care I received was top notch and there was very little to complain about. My needs were also met with compassion and insight.
My medication was always adapted to my needs and I found this great as it helped me very much throughout the weeks.
The only thing I would suggest that could be improved is that during the after lunch break there could be more structure so that part of the day does not drag on. For example, it would be helpful if were allowed to watch things relevant to addiction or mental health. This would make the day flow better without stalling.
This was one of the best and life changing experiences I have ever had the privilege to be part of in the Asha Centre. I would recommend this programme to anyone who is struggling with their addiction and mental health. It is a life changing experience. It saved my life.
