I regularly attend Castlerock Road, Coleraine for podiatry services and was there most recently at the end of November. As usual, the podiatry treatment that I received was excellent. It was carefully and expertly carried out, and I have nothing but praise for the podiatry staff.
However, whilst there was nothing lacking in my treatment, the same cannot be said of the facilities. The corridor, which leads to the podiatry waiting area, ends with a pair of heavy double doors, which are extremely difficult, for a wheelchair user such as myself, to open, and which are even more difficult to manage when leaving as they are on an incline. If staff are on hand, they are always ready to assist, but, there is not always anyone
I was previously promised that the Trust had initiated repair of the doors as a matter of urgency, and yet more than a year has passed, and the doors are in exactly the same state as they were then.
This delay is disappointing, and it would be helpful if these doors could be attended to as soon as possible - not least since I have another appointment upcoming! - but, not just for me, instead for all those who use the facility.
