"The staff were very courteous, kind and considerate"

About: Cloughreagh House

(as a service user),

Cloughreagh couldn't be better. I have been so well looked after , I couldn't ask for more. I didn't know that Cloughreagh even existed until I came here from Craigavon but I'll never forget it. I will forever more have fond memories of my time here.

The food was first class, excellent, as good as any restaurant. I have a good appetite and I was well looked after here, there was plenty of choice on the menu and the food was served nice and hot.

My bedroom was very comfortable and adequate for my needs.

The staff were very courteous, kind and considerate. I also enjoyed having a 'craic' with them .

The rehab team of Physios and OTs' are excellent and they have me back to walking again. They have given me good advice and exercises to do which I will continue when I go home. They have said they will call with me at home and check how I am doing and this is reassuring to me.

There were very good activities, games and quizzes which were enjoyable. I even played a game of Snakes & Ladders recently and I can tell you a lot of water has flowed under the bridge since I last played that game but it was good fun.

I am looking forward to going home and I am feeling very confident that I will now be able to manage well. Overall I have benefited from the excellent care and attention here at Cloughreagh. I think it is a great way of getting people out of hospital when they don't need to be there but like myself are not fit to go home.

Thank you so much for sharing your story on Care Opinion, My team and I are truly touched by your lovely feedback on the service we provide and about the staff who work in and into Cloughreagh House. We understand that the service will only work effectively when healthcare professionals work collectively as a multi-disciplinary team. We want everyone who accesses the service to have the best possible outcome and to prepare for their transition back home.

We are delighted that you enjoyed the social interaction with others. The activity programme is continually reviewed and is updated when we get feedback and ideas from Service users. We understand the importance of providing meaningful activities and work hard to ensure activities do provide an opportunity for service users to interact and engage with others.

I will pass on your lovely feedback to the team, it will mean so much to them to know that they have had a positive outcome on your recovery.. I would also like to take this opportunity on behalf of the staff in Cloughreagh House to thank you again for telling us about your experience and to wish you continued good health.
