"Plastic surgery on two crushed fingers"

About: Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital (Wonford) / Plastic surgery

(as the patient),

Five days after crushing my hand in a car boot lid, I was operated on by surgeon Mr Hussein and his wonderful team, at the Exeter Hand Unit theatre. They were kind, informative and astonishingly skilled.

After six months, my fingers look normal, and the new nails match the rest of the hand. It has been an interesting journey, but my right hand is now 95 percent useful again.

I would like to thank Mr Hussein and team for giving me back the use of my hand. Without it, my life would now be so different, and the ripples would be affecting all those around me.

I can only say a heartfelt thank you and ask you please to pass this message on.
