"Flexible and patient-centred care for my son"

About: Children's Specialist Health Services / Child & Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) Clydesdale Locality Support Service / Treatment Room (Clydesdale)

(as a parent/guardian),

My son needed to have blood tests taken. He was highly anxious and worried about this and the team went to great lengths to set up the appointment in a way that was the least stressful for him.

Yvonne was the nurse who came to do the test and was incredibly patient. She took over half an hour to find a vein and didn't use a needle until she was sure she'd be able to get the blood out. She was very patient and put my son (and me!) absolutely at our ease.

If he requires any more tests or injections, I feel we will both be less stressed about this. Massive thanks to Yvonne for being so kind, and for the system for being so flexible and patient-centred.

Dear Parent,

Thank you for taking the time to leave such positive feedback about you and your sons experience with the UCAMHS, in particular Yvonne. I am delighted to hear that your child was able to receive the right care for him in an environment where he felt safe.

I will pass your kind feedback onto Yvonne, who I’m sure will be delighted. I wish you and your son the very best as he continues his journey through the service.

Kind Regards,

Lisa Marie

Dear bikedo,

Thank you for taking the time out to share this feedback with us. Feedback is important to our staff and the service they provide. It allows us to shape services to address the needs of our citizens.

I am delighted to hear that there was very much a person centred approach taken to the intervention that was required for your son and that there was a positive outcome as a result. Furthermore, I am happy to hear that this experience has helped reduce any future anxieties moving forward.

Kind regards

Karen
