"Two bad experiences"

About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Acute Receiving Unit (Units 1-5)

(as the patient),

I went to hospital after having many iginna attacks put to aru2 to be left in a corridor for over an hour then took to a room after a couple of hours.

I had to go ask for a drink of water, I had no obs or anything done when they did get down blood pressure was still low. I also had to take my gtn on several occasions on my own I waited some time for a staff member to come as I was in so much pain.

I waited nearly a day to see someone. I'm very disappointed that's the 2nd time I've been admitted to that unit and had a bad experience I will not be returning to the hospital if this occurs again.

Dear Annsp33

I am very sorry to hear of your experience while in the Acute Receiving Unit. I would like to discuss this further with you to identify learning for the team. This is not the standard of care that that team strive to provide. I am deeply sorry that your experience on more than one occasion has been distressing for you and falls below the standard that would be expected.

Please contact my PA Janette.Steer@ggc scot.nhs.uk to organise a time and date suitable to you and I can contact you to discuss this in more detail.

Yours sincerely

Marie Austin

Lead Nurse
