"No clear pathway for support/intervention"

About: Child and Adolescent Mental Services / CAMHS ADHD Children and Young People Services / Autism Services

(as a parent/guardian),

My son recently received a dual diagnosis of ASD & ADHD.

Whilst ASD intervention appears to be comprehensive with clear pathways to various supports etc.

It seems, the same cannot be said for ADHD. No clear pathway for support/intervention. No sign posts. Doesn't appear to even be a person/team/department to contact to discuss the diagnosis, or options for support, treatments etc.

It's feels like the Trust have, very reluctantly, given the diagnosis and now I'm left to deal with this on my own for my child.

We're as ASD has a wealth of services and a dedicated team.

I wonder, why the disparity between conditions and services available? They are both neurological conditions that have a massive impact on a child and their family.

I am so frustrated and have been unable to find anyone to contact within the Trust.

I am now engaging with other providers put feel like the Trust have left us high and dry!

Thank you for your feedback regarding intervention available from the Trust following confirmation of an ADHD diagnosis. I apologise that the pathway to access ADHD intervention was not explained appropriately and that you were unclear who you should contact to discuss this. I will be sure to raise this with the relevant staff to ensure this is not the experience for other families.

I would be happy to discuss with you the ADHD support and intervention that is available. Please contact me to discuss this further, Monday - Friday 09.00 - 17.00 on 02837 566 777.
