I have nothing but praise for the treatment, care, support and nursing I received before, during and after my hip replacement at Forth Valley Royal Hospital.
Mr Porter and Joe operated on me and I felt in great hands throughout the procedure. The anaesthetist took her time to support me through the epidural and conversed with me throughout the surgery as and when I needed her attention for water or any questions I had. Her care and attention saw me hugely at ease and at my request, was good enough to show me the hip ball socket joint that had been removed, it was fascinating to see it.
On recovery post op, I was very quickly moved to the ward where Lauren and the nursing team made me feel genuinely special with their care and attention. The patients in the ward were all afforded the same support and attention. Nothing was too much trouble and all of the team in the National Recovery Unit are a credit to the NHS.
There is nothing that aids the recovery better than a smile and a genuinely caring disposition. All of the staff exuded this effortlessly and I cannot praise them highly enough.
I would like to ensure that all of the staff involved are aware of my gratitude and I’m progressing very well with my recovery. The physio, OT and support staff who supplied aids for my home recovery are equally included in my thanks.
My wife had to phone the ward on my release as I was struggling to feel comfortable on the toilet seating aid, the ward arranged a new item to help us within the hour. Another example of their helpfulness and duty of care which reinforced the positivity of my experience.
Thank you to all involved, the NHS and staff are without a doubt the jewel of this country’s achievements and continue to be our most important and valued institution.
An extremely grateful and happy patient.
Thank you.
