"An excellent midwife"

About: Maternity / Journey to Parenthood Programme North Down Community Services / Holywood Arches Community Midwives

(as the patient),

When I got out of hospital after having my baby boy, I wanted to exclusively breastfeed. However my baby boy's birth weight dropped 14.9% and I panicked. I had no idea his weight had dropped that low and as I've never breastfed before I had no idea I was even doing anything wrong. I felt so sad and worried about my baby.

Then midwife Kiara who visited my home gave me the most amazing support and pushed me into successfully exclusively breastfeeding. She was there for me day and night and was always there for me, she went above and beyond her job to encourage me and my baby to breastfeed.

At times I felt I wasn't going to be able to do it but here I am 12 weeks later and my baby is thriving and being well fed..I honestly could not thank enough Kiara for what she did for me at a time when I was so low. I honestly am so grateful for all her support she is an excellent midwife and I wish her every bit of success for the future in her career.

Thank you Honeypot for taking the time to send this lovely compliment about the care you received from your Community Midwife. I am delighted to hear that you had the care and support that you needed to help you continue on your breastfeeding journey and that your little boy is thriving. I will ensure that this is shared with Kiara.

Once again, thank you and best wishes for the future.
