My wife had a pacemaker fitted after several “heart blockages “. Her heart stopped several times over a period of two weeks. So a pacemaker was fitted. It took a while to get anywhere near back to normal so when she run a high temperature we called 111.
What a mistake , it took 100 minutes to even get anywhere near an answer. By that time , the house phone had run out of battery. Just managed to get the operator to believe me and take my mobile number. It felt like the operator wouldn’t believe me, they only would believe the carer , who had came to put my wife to bed ( she was brilliant ). Anyway, the operator run through the tick box not with me or my wife, the operator would only deal with the carer. So the operator would ask the carer the questions and the carer would ask us and then we would answer the carer and then the carer would give the answers to the operator. So it went on , until the operator passed all the information on to the paramedics. The 111 service delayed the calling of the ambulance for 2 1/2 hours. Well done.
