We attended the hospital A&E department at a very busy time just after the Christmas period. My aunt is 96 years old and attending hospital was a very stressful for her. Patricia radiographer and her colleague were fantastic providing reassurance and appropriate guidance throughout the scan. There was clear evidence of excellence. They recognized the risk of infection to my aunt and suggested wearing a mask to reduce the risk. Patricia found us a quieter area to sit but also ensured the doctor would be able to locate us. throughout her work shift Patricia spoke over to us and checked we were still ok and progressing through the system. Her understanding of care to older people was evident ensuring my Aunt had something to drink and finding a straw for her.
Patricia's care and kindness was very much appreciated in a very stressful situation. The doctor who attended us Dr O'Connor was equally caring and provided appropriate targeted care, taking into consideration the individual need. He too spoke over when passing making sure my aunt was ok and progressing through the department. Both provided person centered care that often doesn't happen in these busy environments. I want to thank them sincerely for the care provided and wish them both well in their careers, they are natural in what they do.. some things can't be taught.
"They are natural in what they do"
