"A&E is a Disgrace - 24 hours wait time "

About: Princess Alexandra Hospital (Harlow)

After being advised by 111 my daughter needed to be seen within the hour she attended A & E and has so far waited over 9 hours and been told there’s another FiFTEEN hours wait before the Doctor sees her How on earth has the NHS ended up like this? My daughter originally attended on Thursday evening and was there over night she got discharged without the medication she should have been given, she has deteriorated over the last 24 hours and was told to go back to hospital and is now sat on the floor in A&E with the prospect of another FiFTEEN HOURs wait time. I am appalled at the lack of care provided by this hospital. What an absolute disgrace this hospital is.

Dear Patient,

We know our A&E waits are very long and are working hard to support our patients and families despite very high numbers of patient attendances. I am so sorry. This is not the quality of care people who work in the NHS want to provide.

I hope your daughter was seen eventually and treated as needed, once she was through the wait. Please do contact us through the Patient Advice and Liaison Service where we can connect you with our urgent care team who can provide some assurance about how we are managing and if there is something we can change to respond better, we will certainly listen and respond with a change which reflects your feedback and experience.
