"I will miss the care and friendly faces of the staff"

About: Loane House / Ward 1

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

I took unwell with pneumonia and Jaundice, I was as yellow as a ducks foot.

I was sent to ward 1, for rehabilitation from Craigavon hospital.

Everyone was lovely, the staff were more than good to me , anything I needed the staff got it for me, nothing was ever a bother.

The meals were great.

The ward was spotless, the domestics never stopped cleaning.

The physio was excellent too, and got me back on my feet pretty quickly.

I cant think of anything that could be improved on the ward.

The only problem I had on the ward was listening to the bad language of the patients to the staff. It was totally inappropriate. If I could have got up and walked out I would have, I found it quite distressing, so I'm glad to be going home. I will miss the care and friendly faces of the staff.

Thank you for taking the time to share your recent admission experience.

It is delightful to read how you have described the staff their professionalism as a team. This reflects on the care delivered: high quality person centred care to all patients.

Our Domestic staff do a terrific job at maintaining a high standard of cleanliness as do our nursing teams.

I will ensure to share your kind feedback with the team.

On behalf of the ward it is with sincere apologies that you have had to experience untoward behaviors by other patients towards our staff that led you to feel uncomfortable. The team actively try to minimise this behavior and unfortunately this is not always successful.
