"Helped along by a friendly team of people"

About: Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary / Day Surgery

(as a service user),

I was quite apprehensive about my procedure. The second I met Dr Darroch, I was put at ease. I opted for sedation which was quick and painless. Everything is explained and you can even watch what's going on on the screen.

I didn't feel a single part of it. Everyone says that drinking the prep is the worst part. This is true. The colonoscopy itself is a breeze. Helped along by a friendly team of people making you feel as if you really matter and not just a name on a long list.

Recovery afterwards was quick, friendly nurses, obs checked every 10/15 minutes. Cuppa and a sandwich. Home.

A great experience. Thank you.

Dear HK4301,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. Procedures like this can be quite a daunting thought but I'm glad that you were quickly put at ease by Dr Darroch and the procedure was explained to you clearly.

It's also good to hear that the procedure went well and the team were there to support you throughout this and also during the recovery afterwards.

I will be sure to share this feedback with the teams involved as I know they will appreciate your kind words.

All the best,

Stephen
