"Unwell Elderly Family Member"

About: Crosshouse Hospital / Accident & Emergency

(as a relative),

Immersive Reader

An elderly family member was admitted to ED resus as they were very unwell. I wish I could remember the names of the lovely paramedics and nurses involved who cared for her with dignity and compassion.

The unit was understandably very busy and chaotic but this did not compromise the care shown to her.

A special shout out to Dr Michael who had a very kind bedside manner who explained the situation and updated us. I hope this is directed on to him so he can appreciate the difference he made.

Dear Lucy67

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience of the care provided to your elderly family member within the Emergency Department at University Hospital Crosshouse.

I am sure this must have been an anxious time for you, and I am glad to hear that your elderly relative received such prompt, professional and compassionate care, from our staff. It’s often the small things that can make such a difference, such as taking time with family members to explain what is happening and to provide updates and I’m glad that Dr Michael was able to do this during your time in the Department

Our staff really appreciate receiving feedback from their patients and it will be my pleasure to share your kind comments with the wider Team in the Department and in particular with Dr Michael. When times are challenging, it’s always nice to hear such positive feedback from our patients.

Please accept my best wishes and thank you once again for taking the time to acknowledge your care experience.

Kind Regards

Pamela
