"Concerns over the length of time it is taking"

About: WestMARC (Glasgow)

(as a service user),

Following on from a lower leg amputation in June of this year and a second one in November I feel I have to write regarding my concerns over length of time it is taking to obtain the necessary prosthetics. While I appreciate that changes have to be made I feel time waiting for this is excessive. It became obvious after a few months that my leg was unsuitable and I would require a new one to be fitted. This process began in late October with a further visit mid November when I was days away from having my other leg amputated.

Since then I have been attending Westmarc for physio and hoping each visit that I would have my new leg delivered but as of today there is no further progress.

My experience at Westmarc has been excellent but it would appear that the actual making and supplying a prosthetic leaves a lot to be desired. This experience has been extremely traumatic and these delays only add to what is a very difficult and sometimes depressing situation.

I would hope that obtaining my second leg will not take as long as at the moment I am not able to make progress which is extremely frustrating.

I look forward to hearing your comments regarding this.
