"Excellent care in CAH"

About: Craigavon Area Hospital / Emergency Department Craigavon Area Hospital / Intensive Care Unit Northern Ireland Ambulance Service / Emergency ambulance response Northern Ireland Ambulance Service / Emergency Control

(as a parent/guardian),

Before Christmas my son was unwell early one morning. I rang out of hours doctor who told me to ring 999 when he was unresponsive. She also called me back again to ensure the ambulance was with my son. The 999 operator was calm and told us what to do, the ambulance was with us very quickly and called a second ambulance. Despite the severity of the situation everyone was calm and professional.

When in A &E nurse Sophie was lovely and explained what was happening. My son was then transfered to ICU. I cannot praise everyone we have encountered on this scary journey enough. Staff have been caring, responsive and are invested in my sons health improving. As a family we have felt cared for, supported and our son has had first class treatment. With all the negative comments going around just now we want to say that when a crisis hit our family all the healthcare services we encountered were absolutely amazing and we could have lost our son if it were not for them. Thank you will never be sufficient to show our appreciation. Xx
