"Excellent emergency coronary care"

About: Golden Jubilee National Hospital / Cardiac Surgery Golden Jubilee National Hospital / Thoracic Surgery Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance Scottish Ambulance Service / Patient Transport Service University Hospital Hairmyres / Emergency Department

(as a friend),

Today is the 2nd anniversary of me receiving the greatest gift that could ever be given and that gift was given anonymously, the gift of a second chance at life through the donation of a heart.

I am eternally grateful to the donor and their family for this extremely unselfish gesture. So today is a day for thanks thank you to all the staff at Hairmyres hospital to the paramedics who took me there then on to the NHS Golden Jubilee where I could not possibly have received better treatment.

To the consultants, the doctors and nurses, surgeons, physiotherapists, psychologists, radiologists and all non medical staff who all made my stay there as comfortable as possible.

Lastly to all the people, family and friends who have (and still are )there for me. I include the amazing golden jubilee transplant team in that too. Thank you for every good wish ,prayer and deed that you have done for me it has at times been hard but worth every bit of it to be here amongst people that mean the world to me. A big love to you all and thank you all.

--

The above is shared from a very grateful friend, with consent.  Thanks for keeping our beloved friend on this planet.

Dear Katherines016,

Many thanks for taking the time to share your friend's feedback and experience here on CareOpinion. We wish them a swift recovery from their transplant. I am delighted to read about their positive experience of the Scottish Ambulance Service and the many other partners and NHS staff that were involved in their care. It means a great deal to staff to receive such feedback.

If you wish I can pass on the feedback to the crews directly. To do so we would need to know the date, time and address that the paramedics attended and the patient's name. This information can be sent to sas.feedback@nhs.scot for the team to pick up. If you do decide to do this, would you be so kind as to make reference to your CareOpinion username so that the team can easily locate your story and share it with the crew.

I wish you all the very best and thanks again for sharing your feedback.

Kind Regards

Marie,

Patient Experience Manager
