I attended the Sunrise Centre at Royal Cornwall hospital to discuss having possible radiotherapy as treatment for my cancer.
When I arrived there was a lovely young lady on reception who was really welcoming and efficient and immediately made me feel at ease. I then saw Dr Stewart who was wonderful. I think he realised I was nervous and knew I didn't really understand the problem and options I had been given. He took time to explain everything in a really clear way, a way that I could understand. He checked to make sure I understood and took time to go through all aspects of the treatment being offered, including what might go wrong.
I then saw Debbie and Guy who were amazing - they were so kind and caring and explained everything they were doing, and why they were doing it ahead of my treatment. They worked really well as a team.
I was really nervous before I got there but felt so much happier when I left.
