"Very Helpful"

Attended drop-in vaccination clinic at Blairgowrie Cottage Hospital earlier this week. Staff at the clinic were extremely helpful and explained that due to my age, I wasn't eligible for either the flu or Covid vaccine.

I thought due to my existing medical condition (pulmonary sarcoidosis) that I might meet the criteria for both. Harriet, the duty nurse, was surprised I didn't meet the inclusion criteria and after reading my medical history, said she would escalate an enquiry to Health Protection and my GP surgery to ask if I could be re-coded for both vaccines in the future. Harriet said she would phone me back, and did so 2 days later, to let me know that I would indeed be eligible for both vaccines both now and in the future. I was very pleased and relieved that I could get the vaccines, and it gave me peace of mind with the large numbers of flu cases around, that I would be covered for both. I subsequently attended the same drop-in clinic 2 days after Harriet's call,  where the duty nurse (Vicky) was very helpful, was aware of the situation and administered both vaccines.
