"I fell and broke my arm."

About: Craigavon Area Hospital / Emergency Department Craigavon Area Hospital / Fracture Clinic Craigavon Area Hospital / Orthopaedics

(as a service user),

I felt frightened and tried to get help. I phoned a friend and was taken to a&e where the staff were exceptional working under extreme conditions.

I was sent to fracture clinic on and got an x-ray and was told I had a bad break and was out in a sling. I returned to clinic a week later with a different sling to help it would heal the break, this didn't happen so I was told I had to have surgery.

I had surgery two weeks later on the orthopaedic ward and I have given extremely good care, given pain relief and antibiotics and am know safe for discharge. The staff have been absolutely wonderful working under extreme conditions. All staff are extremely helpful, courteous and a pleasure to be around.

Thank you for taking the time to give the ortho ward your lovely feedback. I am pleased that you had such a positive experience on the ortho ward after having a traumatic event in your life.

I will pass this feedback onto all staff. I wish you a full recovery from your surgery.

Kind regards

Clinical sister
