I was diagnosed following routine blood pressure checks. I had to attend A&E lasting 19 hours but other than the length of time, was very positive.
I have had close contact with the diabetic specialist ever since and when i was offered the education course, i jumped at the chance.
The course was excellent, information give was fantastic, pitched at the right level. The staff was so friendly and knowledgeable with an easy atmosphere. Just fab thank you.
I think it would be brilliant if follow up refresher courses could be offered in the future to keep abreast of any new information.
One item that i feel would be beneficial in the course would be to state the difference between type1 and type 2 diabetes.
Also to possibly offer more good food information for type1 diabetes.
