"Flexible cystoscopy was a big success for me"

About: Royal Cornwall Hospital (Treliske) / Urology

(as a service user),

I had a flexible cystoscopy due to severe pain and it had debilitated me for nearly 2 years. I was afraid due to a bad experience with a consultant in a different hospital a long way away.

Due to my own issues I needed a female to carry out the procedure and that’s what I got. Miss Lone and her team, which helped me and assisted Miss Lone, put me at ease straight away and I’m so pleased I went and got it done.

It was over so quickly and it was mildly uncomfortable at least. I am so pleased I’m closer now I have answers. I made it worse in my head and it was fine.

Thanks to Miss Lone and the nurses and healthcare assistants.

glad to read that you found the procedure only slightly uncomfortable and that we were able to help you through the experience. Going forward I hope you receive answers to any issues you may have. It is very true that you can build things up in your mind to be worse than they actually are and we hope that stories such as yours will reassure future patients coming in to our department.

Thank you I hope it helps others, I was so happy walking out the hospital after knowing I had done it!
