"Exhausted because they did not let me eat"

About: Antrim Area Hospital / Delivery Suite Northern Health & Social Care Trust / Continuity of Midwifery Carer Service (The Lotus Team)

(as the patient),

I gave birth in December through induction. For me it was so painful, as they will force you to be in labour. I was so exhausted because they did not let me eat for 24hours, losing my energy and strength to be in labour and to push. They asked me to do the forceps delivery, unfortunately there was a haematoma on my baby's head, and we are so worried because it’s been many weeks now, and it's not getting smaller. I was so disappointed for what my baby boy experienced on his head.. i hope it will be okay.

Dear Cmzdi,

Thank you for taking the time to provide your valuable feedback. Firstly congratulations on the birth or your little boy however, I am saddened to hear of your experience. Unfortunately due to the anonymous nature of care opinion I cannot comment on individual care, however I would like to have the opportunity to talk to you in further detail to understand the learning that could be undertaken. I have provided my details, please feel free to contact me to discuss this further.

In regards to your son, if you are concerned, please can I encourage you to contact your GP for him to be reviewed,

Many Thanks,

Rachel Chakravarti
