I presented to GRI A&E after overnight chest pain and palpitations. The whole experience was quick, thorough and reassuring. Thankfully I didn’t need admission.
Despite messages displayed of much longer waiting times, I was into triage in 30 minutes, and 10 minutes later my ECG was checked by a doctor and I was told all was normal. I was very relieved.
I had another short wait before I was taken through to a cubicle and saw a lovely doctor who listened to my symptoms and carefully and thoroughly probed for extra information. He gave me an examination and explained he needed to compare blood results and previous scans. Again, I was relieved and felt very well looked after.
He returned a short time later to reassure me and recommend next steps.
Throughout my short stay every member of staff was professional, friendly and really seemed to care. I was even offered a hot drink and sandwich by a lovely student nurse.
Well done GRI on running such an efficient and patient-centered A&E! And thank you.
"Well done GRI"
