"I thought the mental health care was below standard"

About: Royal Surrey County Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as the patient),

I was taken to A&E in a mental health crisis in October 2024. I was left in a room and watched by staff. This was not a good experience. I felt like they kept laughing at me, when I was in a state of extreme anxiety.

I was eventually seen by a mental health worker after several hours. They came in the room and aggressively dragged a chair across the room and proceeded to ask me lots of questions.

After which  I was discharged and left in the reception area with no way of getting home. I ended up walking home in the dark and injuring my foot. I got home an 1 hour 30mins later.

This experience has put me off ever going here again for mental health crisis.
