"Thank you for the absolute best care"

(as a service user),

At the end of September 2024 I found a small lump in my breast, I was seen by my GP the next morning and had an appointment with the specialist team in RDUH within a week. This amazing pace has continued throughout my treatment, with no unnecessary hold-ups or delays. Although the lump was cancerous, I have been held and supported so well by the whole team that it has really minimised the stress that my family and I have been through.

I feel that I have experienced a real example of how a service can operate efficiently (through good systems, referrals and excellent MDT working) which has a massively positive impact on their patients. So I want to say a huge thank you to the whole Breast Care team (Mr Ferguson, Gayl, Dawn, Susie, Tania, specialist radiographers, MRI and CT teams) as well as the Plastic Surgery and theatre team (Miss Tillett, Miss Olsen, Mr Oliver, and my reassuring anaesthetic team), recovery ward (Ines), Otter Ward (Renee, Fatima, David HCA, Lauren, Sadie , May HCA, Soriya, Chloe, Amy, Stephanie, Edwin, Dawn), and the wound care clinic (Nathalie).

Once home I was well supported by the District Nursing Team from Moretonhampstead who were so kind and willing to visit as much as I needed. I've named names (sorry, I'm bound to have missed some people, blame the drugs!) because you lot are totally excellent at what you do! Thank you for giving me the absolutely best care.

Dear Ruthie 2161,

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with some feedback, particularly whilst you recover from your surgery.

It means a lot to receive such positive feedback and it is wonderful to hear that you felt 'held and supported' by the whole team. We strive to work collaboratively, and I am so pleased that you have experienced such efficiency, which has reduced some of the stress for you and for your family. It is great that what we strive to do, is working for our patients.

I will be share your feedback with the whole team, and wish you well for the rest of your recovery, and on-going treatments.

Take care and thank you again.

Best wishes

Suzie Avery
