"DVD DONATIONS BY FAMILY,FRIENDS, AND STAFF TO THE LIBRARY"

About: Rampton Hospital

(as a service user),

I added a story not too long back and security have got back to me and from what they've replied i think they've got the wrong idea of what i was trying to explain as they say in a letter - about the concerns I raised on an online submission form in December, about requesting to have and order DVD's at Rampton Hospital. I wanted to be able to donate them to the library. and also further in to the reply they put that for safety and security reasons DVD's are a prohibited item for patient ownership at Rampton Hospital.

I think there has been a misunderstanding.

I did not ask for DVD's to be in patients ownership but for them to be donated by family, friends, and staff etc as that is what the Hospital relies on donations from what i am aware of due to funding reasons etc, and this way we could tell family members to order certain DVD's to be able to bring/send/hand in/donate to the Hospital

Hi,

Thank you for posting again. I can't comment on the letter from Security as I've not seen it. However, I have met with Security to discuss the idea you put forward regarding patients and patient's family donating dvd's. I am in the process of writing a procedure to see if this is possible. Please be assured that things are happening in the background but I can't make any promises about the outcome. I'm more than happy to discuss this with you on the ward if it would help.

Thank you

Matthew Clayton
