"Husbands prostate cancer diagnosis"

About: New Victoria Hospital / Urology Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Theatres, Recovery and Anaesthetics Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Urology (Ward 11c) Royal Alexandra Hospital / Urology

(as a relative),

My husband was diagnosed with prostate cancer in August 2024.

His original appointment was at the urology department in the RAH for a completely different problem, the consultant suggested a PSA test to be on the safe side - unfortunately this came back at an abnormal reading. He was sent to the Glasgow Royal for further investigation and this was followed by a biopsy at the Inverclyde Hospital which came back positive for cancer.

From there on in the treatment was incredible, I would like to thank all nursing staff at 11c QEUH for there wonderful care, and a huge thanks to Mr Dutto and his theatre team for basically saving my husband's life.

We had our appointment today at the New Victoria for results of prosectomy this was given to us by Mr. Dutto who told us there was absolutely no trace of cancer at all, this gentleman is a credit to his profession.

We can't thank everyone, every department and every hospital involved for the care he recieved and again for the skill of Mr Dutto and his team for  ridding my husband of this horrible disease,

Thank goodness for our wonderful NHS.
