"I felt safe to express my concerns"

About: Children's Specialist Health Services / Family Nurse Partnership

(as a service user),

Stacey from the family nurse partnership has been an incredible support throughout my pregnancy and postpartum journey. From the very beginning, she has shown genuine care and understanding, especially when it comes to my struggles with anxiety and eating. Stacey always takes the time to listen to my concerns without judgment, making me feel valued and heard.

Her advice has been practical and tailored to my needs, helping me navigate the challenges that come with pregnancy and the postpartum period. Whether it’s discussing coping strategies for anxiety or providing tips on all things baby, Stacey's guidance has made a significant difference in my well-being. As a young mum, I had never really seen any other young mums breastfeeding but I wanted to give it a go - Stacey and I had multiple conversations about this and she really encouraged me, she provided me with all of the relevant information as well as giving me reassurance.

Stacey has a unique ability to make me feel comfortable and confident as a young mum. Her outgoing nature and approachable demeanour create an environment where I feel safe to express my concerns, whether they are about my baby or my own well-being. Knowing that I can go to her with anything on my mind has been incredibly reassuring. She always responds with kindness and understanding, which has helped me build my confidence in parenting. It's a relief to have someone so easy to talk to, and her support has truly empowered me during this journey. Her compassion and dedication to her role have truly made this experience more manageable and positive for me. I am so grateful for her support during this important time in my life.

Good morning Newmum1. Thank you so much for your lovely care opinion about your experience with your Family Nurse Stacey and Family Nurse Partnership.

I am so pleased to hear how much you value your relationship with Stacey, and appreciate all her guidance, compassion and support with regards to your own health and well being, as well as that of being a new mum. It is also so important to hear how safe you felt with Stacey, and comfortable to share your own experiences knowing you would be supported, listened too and not judged - that would have meant so much to you.

Its also lovely to hear how you have felt encouraged to build your own confidence in being a parent.

It means so much to the Family Nurses to know that they can have such a positive impact on the young people and their families that they work with, where they can feel valued, respected and supported with their early motherhood journey as well as their own life course.

Stacey will be completely overwhelmed and appreciative of your kind message, and I will be sure to share it with her and the team.

I want to wish you and your wee one every happiness and good health for your future together.

Take care.

Sharon McLaughlin (FN Supervisor)
