I have written to the Daily Mail and The Herald Express expressing my opinion of these two departments but thought that I would like to thank them more directly through this site. I'm an unremarkable old man rapidly approaching 90 and my expectations were low when I was taken by ambulance to A & E. I only spent a short time in the EAU dept. but was amazed by the quality of care given to me and to all the patients. I would like to thank them all. From here I was taken to the wonderful Dunlop Ward where I was quite overwhelmed by the care I was given by all the caring staff who are so wonderfully led by the lovely nurse in charge. I hope that my thanks reach them all. Even the catering was first class. This is no criticism of the staff but I unfortunately made the wrong decision to leave early because my brain was befuddled after being unable to sleep with the bright light over my bed and a very bright light shining from the adjoining cubicle the whole night. I've since bought a silk eye-mask for use if I ever go into the wonderful Dunlop ward again.
