"Fantastic care"

About: Glasgow Royal Infirmary / Accident & Emergency Glasgow Royal Infirmary / Acute/Medical Receiving Unit (50,51,53) Glasgow Royal Infirmary / Imaging Glasgow Royal Infirmary / Medical HDU (Ward 44) Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance

(as a service user),

I woke up and couldn’t walk or get up as my bedroom was spinning.I managed to call my daughter who immediately came to help me.She contacted my GP who sent for an ambulance. The ambulance came very quickly and the two staff were second to none.

I was very quickly triaged in A&E  and was given a CT scan.Thankfully there was no stroke or brain bleed detected.I was then admitted to ward 52 then transferred to ward 50 next day.

Throughout my experience the care and attention I received was first class.I was diagnosed with Acute Labrynthitis.Thankfully nothing more serious.

I hear so many complaints about the NHS and can honestly say my care was wonderful.Thank you NHS.

Hi Mariegl541,

Really sorry to hear about your recent illness, that must have been a really scary experience and I hope you're feeling a lot better now.

It's great to read that you experienced such good care from staff throughout the NHS and I wanted to thank you in particular for your warm words about our staff from the Scottish Ambulance Service.

It is really appreciated. You are right - the NHS does get criticised from time to time so it's great for our staff when patients like yourself reach out to say thank you and show how much they appreciate the high standards of care they received.

Thanks again.

Mark
